Some reviews I’ve seen are too short or not enough for me to understand the pros or the cons of a story. I may be a Sailor Moon fan, but your explanation gives me a clearer idea on the cons of the manga. Thanks again!

I know many people love them, just not for me.

(That said, the reviews I write for Comic Book Resources have them because that’s their thing. If nothing else it’s another split between what I do here and what I do there, to help keep them apart.)

Speaking to critical reviews (and you don’t have to post this comment here if you feel it’s not pertinent to a page about Sailor Moon)… what are you thoughts on review measurements or scales? Think about “yay” vs. “nay”, thumbs up vs. thumbs down, 1 star out of four, etc. posted at the end of a review.

I think something like that could be very helpful at a glance. In terms of functionality on a web page it could act as a “tag” that can be used to quickly aggregate information. For instance a user could click on such a tag and be immediately taken to a list of reviews that rated four stars (or whatever measure).

As for the last one that was negative… you only need to go two days back to the previous review (Holy Terror), which I certainly hope no one thought was a positive review. :) I think I’d sooner re-read Sailor Moon than Holy Terror.

I had been under the impression that you only wrote reviews of comics with which you had an overall positive experience. Perhaps I was mistaken.

If I remember the cartoon show correctly, Sailor Moon’s character was quite annoying and whiny. The voice, I think, was even done by the same person who did Shrieky on Care Bears. Sounds like this might be a book just for die-hard fans of Sailor Moon.
