It’ll be interesting to see how Asumi eventually qualifies to be an astronaut.

By: Marfisa http://www.readaboutcomics.com/2011/01/21/twin-spica-vol-5/comment-page-1/#comment-119266 Wed, 26 Jan 2011 01:28:17 +0000 http://www.readaboutcomics.com/?p=1632#comment-119266 Marika’s health issues seem serious enough that it’s mystifying how she ever got into the physically demanding astronaut training program in the first place, although at least in the present-day storyline she appears to be coughing up blood less often and–up until the rough landing involved in the latest exercise–less seriously than in the flashbacks, where her illness seemed much more potentially life-threatening. Even if whatever problem causes these symptoms doesn’t show up on a standard medical exam, you’d think the school would require her to submit some sort of past medical records. And since her controlling father literally wants to keep her from leaving the house as much as possible, I imagine he would have been only too delighted to present proof that Marika wasn’t physically up to anything much more strenuous than a moderately brisk hike (if that). It’ll be interesting to eventually find out–I hope–how she got around this.
