[...] Read About Comics quite likes it, enjoying the progression of Polly from prim young lady to pirate queen and Naifeh’s clean art. Dexter K. Flowers at Broken Frontier loves the combination of swashbuckling and coming of age, and describes Polly as “Shirley Temple Bilbo Baggins”. If that doesn’t make you want to at least find out who Polly is, then I can’t help you. [...]

Hey, I understood what you meant, and I'm a hillbilly from Alabama. What I don't understand is why my comic shop hasn't gotten me my copy of this yet. Rassin' frassin' comic shop ...

By the way, Greg, congratulations on a great-looking new site. I know you had a lot of problems at the old site over the last year or so, so I'm glad that this setup will involve fewer headaches for you.

And as long as I'm getting all mushy here, thanks for all your hard work posting these reviews. Over the last few years I've come to really enjoy your site and a few others. Our tastes may not converge that often, but I always find your reviews and recommendations informative, well-written, and enjoyable.

And that's all the kissing-up I'm going to do today.

No problem--more than anything else it gave me a chance to clarify since I didn't write what I was aiming at quite well enough. And I appreciate people reading enough to not be afraid to question. :)

Yep, I'm aware of that. That's why I said Courtney Crumrin II rather than Courtney Crumrin Vol. 2, the idea that people might be expecting a carbon copy of the other character.

"And those who are expecting Courtney Crumrin II might be in for a bit of a shock upon meeting Polly."

Actually, there are already three Courtney Crumrin volumes. So shouldn't that read "And those who are expecting Courtney Crumrin IV..."?
