I enjoyed the first two issues, greg hits the nail on the head with regards to issues concerning storyline vs art but its the nature of the medium. Hopefully the comic will deepen abit as the creative team continues with the story. The one thing i thought that was alittle off was not establishing the setting definitively. For half the first issue I thought it was meant to be a period piece and then again in the second with the transition from feudal japan to a more modern yakuza setting. They need to define where modern japan begins and the samurai malarky stops. That said however, i'd love to see a second series.

Greg,
Thank you for the review of our book. Good reviews, bad reviews, they all good to me. :)
I just wanted to take this opportunity to say that we definetly don't take ourselves or Sam Noir very seriously. It is meant to be fun, quirky. We both enjoyed making it and we both know that our brand of humor may not always hit people the way we intend it to. But that's the joy of comics. We are each allowed to read it and walk away with our own perspectives. The second and third issues are stronger to us, but your mileage may vary.
Thank you again Greg for taking the time to review a small book from 2 unknown fellas. :)

Mark, this is the first mini (3 issues) in a hopeful series of mini's. Shadowline believes in doing a series of small arcs. In fact i was jut finishing up some pages for the first issue of our second mini series. We have a larger stroy planned, and if sales and fan desire is good than we'll keep making it. Who knows.

I’ve just bought this off ebay for £3.10 including shipping so not bad, have yet to read it but based on the name along this is going to be a good book! I have one question – I heard this is a mini series, does anyone know how many issues this will last?
